WWA Rail Europeans come to Wakestock & to celebrate we’re giving away a Hyperlite wakeboard
Wakestock 2011 returns to North Wales on July 8 – 10th, and as well a big name acts including Biffy Clyro, The Wombats, Ellie Goulding, Chase and Status, Example and many more, the world’s best rail riders will be travelling to the festival to compete in the WWA Rail Europeans. The 200,000 gallon pool gap set up was first introduced to the festival site back in the year 2006 and since then the standard of rail riding both in the UK and internationally has blown up. This year at Wakestock the riders will be competing for some serious prize money on the pool gap as the WWA Rail Europeans competition is taking place slap bang in the middle of the festival site. The WWA Rail Europeans finals will be taking place on Sunday 10th July between 3 and 6pm at the festival site – we’ll be opening up the festival site from 2pm on Sunday so you can enjoy all the action as the worlds best rail riders battle it out on site.
Wakestock began back in the year 2000 and became famous for having the most progressive rails at any European wakeboard competition. The boat competition will once again return to Pwllheli marina for the pro qualifier on Friday 8th and the pro finals on Saturday 9th July. The Big Air competition also returns to Abersoch Beach this year, and will be taking place between 11am and 1pm on Sunday 10th – it’s a great element to the competition as the riders are towed by jetskis close to the shoreline with a really simple format, biggest trick wins.
With over £15,000 prize money up for grabs and the best riders in the world travelling over to compete make sure you’re there to catch all the action. The full list of riders competing will be announced in May. If you fancy getting into wakeboarding make sure you check out our Wakestock Facebook page – we’re giving away a Hyperlite Wakeboard to our Facebook fans this week, just click like on our profile to be in with a chance of winning.
