Blood Red Shoes is the duo of Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell. Championed by the likes of Radio 1’s Zane Lowe and Huw Stephens, the bands latest album “Fire Like This” has received with great acclaim and from this comes their awesome latest single ‘Don’t Ask’ a recent Record of the Week on Radio 1 .

Formed in late 2004 after their previous bands broke up, they didn't really know each other that well but started writing songs they liked very quickly and then started playing them live only a few days after their first practice. The duo started releasing a string of 7" records in 2005 on a few different independent labels and in 2008 they released their first album, called Box of Secrets, on V2 records. After their Autumn-Winter tour of 2008, the band took a performance stop in the first months of 2009 to write songs for their next record. They released their anticipated second album in March 2009 and now in 2010 Fire Like This has projected the band to new heights with its raw, unfussy rock songs that forsakes gloss or studio tricks for instinct and urgency. An outstanding album reflected equally in their live performances.
