| Elliot Minor, the Mystery Jets and You Me At Six – set to play both Wakestock Abersoch and Wakestock Blenheim 2008. Wakestock can now announce that ELLIOTT MINOR will be playing both events in 2008. With three hit singles under their belt and their fifth single “Parallel Worlds” receiving a huge amount of air play on Radio1, this exciting band have quietly infiltrated the charts and are poised to crash into the mainstream in a major way. Jo Whiley and Radio 1 featured the band in The Live Lounge last week to critical acclaim and they have been described as one of the most exciting bands of 2008. Also set to make an appearance are Londoners the MYSTERY JETS, formed in the late 90’s when a father and son began playing together, along with a few school mates. These prog / psychedelia – influenced British band cross over many genres yet don’t bind themselves to any one in particular. The band released their second album, ‘Twenty One’ on March 24th, 2008 and their single “Young Love” was a huge Indie hit. Mystery Jets are coming to Wakestock for the first time and if you like Indie rock, you’ll love these guys. Joining MYSTERY JETS and ELLIOTT MINOR are pop – punk band YOU ME AT SIX. Their sound has been compared with the likes of Panic! at the Disco and Brand New by NME magazine. Kerrang! magazine described their music as "Catchy melodies, snappy lyrics and hip-wriggling instrumentals." YOU ME AT SIX have toured with Fightstar, Elliot Minor and The Audition. In late 2007, they released their first single "Save It for the Bedroom" and their second single "If I Were in Your Shoes" was released on March 17th 2008. The band have stated that their album should be released in the summer, just in time for their Wakestock debut. |
