YOUNG FATHERS
It is not often you hear the words Scottish and Hip Hop in the same sentence, but this is exactly what Young Fathers are , a Scottish Hip Hop trio who are causing a real stir. These talented 20 year olds have honed their skills over the last few years since meeting at an under 18’s hip hop night in Edinburgh. They showed thier rapping skills in open mic slots and came together with a shared desire to write songs rather than just rap over beats, creating their first tracks using cheap music software and a microphone from Argos. Young Fathers have also finished recording of their debut album “Inconceivable Child… Conceived,” which is available for download. As their reputation grows, Young Fathers have the commercial potential to sire a brave new scene in a country not previously renowned for turning out world-class hip-hop acts. Wakestock is looking forward to their set this year.
