THE FUTUREHEADS, THE KING BLUES, FRANKIE & THE HEARTSTRINGS & BODYROX ft LUCIANA CONFIRMED

Over the next couple of weeks we’ve got loads of announcements to make including a stack more bands & DJ’s that we can reveal who will be performing at Relentless Wakestock 2010. It’s an exciting time with just under 2 months to go and as Roll Deep & Plan B (both confirmed this year) take the number 1 spot in the singles & album charts respectively, we are very excited to announce the addition of punk funk legends THE FUTUREHEADS, riotous sozzled punk bank THE KING BLUES, Huw Stephen’s favourite FRANKIE & THE HEARTSTRINGS and Ivor Novello nominees BODYROX featuring LUCIANA.

More acts will be announced next week as well as the individual day line-ups on each stage.

LATEST ACTS ANNOUNCED

THE FUTUREHEADS possess a whole arsenal of huge festival punk funk anthems. Their first single was released back in 2002 and achieved instant fame for the 4 piece from Sunderland. "Hounds Of Love" is now an instant winner with any festival crowd. They have influences by an eclectic mix of the likes of Kate Bush, Fugazi, Devo, Queen and The Jam. Look out for The Beginning of the Twist & recent smash Heartbeat Song in amongst the Wakestock fun.

THE KING BLUES are one of the UK’s best loved punk underground bands. Zane Lowe is a big fan & their latest song ‘Headbutt’ is all over Radio 1. It is punk music as it was intended engaging and forward thinking, epitomized by their hit “I Got Love” and infectious “Save the World, Get the Girl”. Check out brand new material from new album 'Punk and Poetry' but this band know how to get the crowd going in a big way.

FRANKIE & THE HEARTSTRINGS are touring this month in support of fellow North-Easterners, The Futureheads. They are a brand new old-fashioned pop band from Sunderland. The five-piece played their first gig a year ago and have been grafting solidly since, writing and rehearsing at night, holding down full-time jobs working in schools, social care and charity shops during the day! The band released their latest single “Tender” last month off the back of the great hit single “Hunger” and its looks like they will be pulling rather dramatically on your fragile little heartstrings right the way through 2010.

BODYROX is the name for English house music DJ duo Jon Pearn and Nick Bridges. They will be joined by hot vocalist LUCIANA who first worked with them to create the massive club hit “Yeah Yeah” enjoying huge success with massive play in clubs around the world. With a string of big songs filling clubland, they’re just about to launch back into the mainstream with their next single collaboration with N-Dubz called “We Dance On” out at the end of this month.
