SUPER FURRIES, NOISETTES, ELLIOT MINOR & MARINA & THE DIAMONDS CONFIRM.

The plans for this year’s Relentless Wakestock 2009 are in full swing now. We’ve got some corkers to announce later this week including more headliners, but for the time being here’s some more of our top acts that have now confirmed for this year.

Welsh legends the SUPER FURRY ANIMALS will be making the trip to North Wales. Over the years they have produced albums such as ‘Radiator and ‘Out Spaced’ influenced by vocals of 1960’s bands such as The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Velvet Underground with a mixture of glam, garage rock numbers. Their music over the years has even featured artists such as the great Sir Paul McCartney and the band have a massive range of different styles of music in Welsh and in English. These rockers have been on the scene for many years and with 13 excellent albums under their belt they are sure to get the crowd going in their home country!

NOISETTES will be hitting the Wakestock stage in 2009. The band are currently enjoying their second week at number 2 in the UK singles chart with summer anthem ‘Don’t Upset the Rhythm.’ Since forming back in 2003, they have toured with bands such as Babyshambles and Muse. They recently returned to the studio to complete their third album ‘What’s the Time Mr. Wolf?’

ELLIOT MINOR we have invited back for our birthday celebrations. How could we not do? They wakeboard!. These York based rockers are a mix of an amazing blend on pop rock, alternative rock and can play over 8 instruments between them ranging from a violin to a sax. Only officially forming a few years ago in 2005 they have had major success in a short space of time. Their 2008 album reached number 6 in the album chart. They went on Jo Whiley’s Radio 1 show on the live lounge section where they covered Take That’s ‘Rule the World’ which then featured on the Live Lounge Album.

Keeping up with the Welsh theme, MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS will also be making the trip to the Llyn. The half Welsh / Half Greek London based songstress is bringing her own Electro trash sound to Relentless Wakestock this year. Drawing parallels with Kate Bush an Imogen Heap, Marina’s catchy sync pop will undoubtedly go down well with the Wakestock crowd.

There will be even more announcements later in the week, including some headliners so keep checking for back for updates.
