RADIO 1 LEGENDS ZANE LOWE, HUW STEPHENS & MORE JOIN THE 2010 LINE-UP
We’ve got even more to announce to the already jam packed 2010 line up including Radio 1 legends ZANE LOWE and HUW STEPHENS, electronic glam aficionados FENECH SOLER and PRETTY LIGHTS and Welsh psychedelia punk 4 piece RACE HORSES.
ZANE LOWE & HUW STEPHENS need no introduction and join Radio 1 colleague PETE TONG on the 2010 line-up. Both these guys are known for their knowledge and appreciation of what is great and good in music and renowned for playing big anthemic sets that rock any crowd. These Radio 1 legends & national TV stars are big supporters of Relentless Wakestock and have made the trip more than once before. Listen out for news on the event on both their Radio 1 shows in the lead up to the festival. Huw has been involved with Radio 1 since he was 17 and has risen through the ranks to become one of the most popular DJ’s on the station today along with Zane who has championed new music since starting at Radio 1 in 2003 and fronts his own show on MTV called Gonzo. We’re stoked to have them back.
Joining them are FENECH SOLER and electronic four-piece known for their amazing remixes of tracks such as Marina and the Diamonds “Hollywood” and a fantastic tour with Groove Armada. After belting out their tunes to maxed out crowds at the US SXSW festival their single “Stop and Stare” looks sets to be a summer anthem in 2010.
Sample crazy producers PRETTY LIGHTS will also be joining them. Every project released so far has been free, akin to recent hip hop acts who have seen their careers blow up as a result. From Colorado, Derek Vincent Smith and drummer Cary Eberhard together achieve a raw energy through their electronic music. Their party rocking beats fill venues with energy and emotion and people love it! Watch out Wakestock!
Welsh band RACE HORSES will also be taking to the stage in 2010. These boys from Aberystwyth were formerly known as Radio Luxembourg and in the past have been compared to the likes of Super Furry Animals. Their blend of multi coloured indie pop is ambitious and catchy and perfect for the North Wales crowd.
There are still loads more to announce so keep checking for updates!
