NORTH WALES IS SO HOT RIGHT NOW!
As many of you know Relentless Wakestock isn't just about a music festival, it's about golden sandy beaches, cool bars & cafes, beautiful clear waters and the most stunning backdrop you'll see at any festival, and at the moment the Snowdonia Mountains have never been so clear across Cardigan Bay. The sea is warming up rapidly with the amazing weather we've been having and so it's not surprising that the dolphins have returned to Abersoch bay here in bigger numbers than ever before. In fact where the wakeboard Big Air event is held there were 6 of them playing in the shallows this evening.
The fields up at the festival site are looking lush with healthy green grass spanning all the camping and arena areas. The bridge and walkway over the stream is already being built to connect the car parks to the main festival site, and over in Pwllheli Marina the epic wakeboard rails will start to go in early next week. The water today there was absolute glass - perfect conditions for the best wakeboarders on the planet to enjoy when they arrive in 2 weeks.
As I'm sure you've already heard, BBC RADIO 1 will be broadcasting live from 1pm - 4pm on Saturday 3rd July at the festival, with Huw Stephens & Tom Deacon presenting the afternoon show. Also joining us from Radio 1 is Zane Lowe, Pete Tong and Kissy Sell Out, so expect lots of hype and a few unnounced treats over the weekend.
A few of the Radio 1 DJ's are going to get down to the Marina to watch the Pro Wakeboard event and hang out with wakeboard legends like Parks Bonifay, Dallas Friday, Rusty Malinoski, Harley Clifford, Nick Davies, Amber Wing and loads more from the list of the world's elite.
The RAF Displays are now confirmed to take place over the festival site on Friday 7:15pm and Sunday at 6:20pm, with the RAF Typhoon Eurofighter and the RAF Falcons (parachute display team) putting on their legendary displays.
Musically there's a whole host of bands and DJ's for you to get stuck into, acts like Tinie Tempah, Plan B, Robyn and The Futureheads who are all over the airwaves & on TV currently, whilst the likes of The Ting Tings, Feeder, Maximo Park will give you that big band guitar fix, amongst loads of other awesome acts throughout the weekend.
