HOT HOT HOT. BEACHES, BOARDIES & GOOD TIMES. LESS THAN 6 WEEKS TO GO.
With less than 6 weeks to go before the 10th birthday party at Europe’s Largest Wakeboard Music Festival, the summer season has really kicked off with some scorching weather here in Abersoch.
The bikinis & board shorts have been out in force in the village and on the golden sandy beaches along the Cardigan Bay coast. We’ve never seen the water so clear and warm at this time of year and the dolphins have already made numerous appearances in the bay. The pubs and cafes have been buzzing with a summer party feel and there’s a stack of cool surf shops selling Billabong, Rip Curl, Reef, Vans, Quicksilver, O’Neill and loads more.
To add to this hot build up, man of the moment Dizzee Rascal currently tops the charts with his new single “Bonkers” which is already labelled by many as the song of the summer, joining him are Calvin Harris & Tynchy Stryder who are also recent chart toppers. The line up has a real party vibe to it and should see you bouncing through all 3 nights of live music & Dj’s. Why not click on our 2009 play list courtesy of We7 and listen to the acts playing to get you in the mood!
There’s some amazing changes on site this year, including a bigger open air stage which will see live performances from Moby, N*E*R*D, Dizzee Rascal, Super Furry Animals & Chicane who will all be enjoying the view across a sea of people out to Cardigan Bay & the Snowdonia Mountains during their sets. Legendary DJ’s including Zane Lowe, James Zabiela and of course Norman Jay MBE will too be cranking out the tunes on this awesome stage and we haven’t even announced our special guests yet!
One of these guests will be opening the festival on Friday afternoon at 2pm with a full party celebration build up to the arrival of the Red Arrows display at 3:30pm. Don’t miss it …… it’s going to be one hell of a start to the weekend.
Right in the heart of the stunning festival sight at Penrhos we have a new main arena that’s going to be the perfect venue for acts like Calvin Harris, Pigeon Detectives, The Zutons, Noisettes, Fightstar & Just Jack. Our friends at Relentless Energy Drink will be bringing their fantastic new Relentless Pyramid stage. It’s an awesome structure perfect for the likes of Mr. Scruff, Chase & Status, Zane Lowe, Golden Silvers, London Elektricity & Goldie. Make sure you catch fast rising Radio 1 star Huw Stephens who is curating the Relentless Pyramid on the final day.
