BLOOD RED SHOES & HURTS ADDED TO THE 2010 LINE-UP

We’re very pleased to announce that we have just confirmed 2 awesome bands for Saturday at Wakestock, BLOOD RED SHOES and HURTS. Both currently enjoying huge airplay of their latest singles with rave reviews fired from all angles.

BLOOD RED SHOES is the duo of Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell. Championed by the likes of Radio 1’s Zane Lowe and Huw Stephens, the bands latest album “Fire Like This” has received with great acclaim and from this comes their awesome latest single ‘Don’t Ask’ a recent Record of the Week on Radio 1 .

Formed in late 2004 after their previous bands broke up, they didn't really know each other that well but started writing songs they liked very quickly and then started playing them live only a few days after their first practice. The duo started releasing a string of 7" records in 2005 on a few different independent labels and in 2008 they released their first album, called Box of Secrets, on V2 records. After their Autumn-Winter tour of 2008, the band took a performance stop in the first months of 2009 to write songs for their next record. They released their anticipated second album in March 2009 and now in 2010 Fire Like This has projected the band to new heights with its raw, unfussy rock songs that forsakes gloss or studio tricks for instinct and urgency. An outstanding album reflected equally in their live performances.

Elegant and enigmatic Manchester, UK electro duo HURTS have been named in the top 5 of the BBC's Sound of 2010 list, predicting big things for the band this year. This is exactly where they are heading! The electro-pop pair, comprised of singer Theo Hutchcraft and instrumentalist Adam Anderson, had great success with first single ‘Wonderful Life’, and now their latest soon to be released single ‘Better Than Love’ is receiving massive air play with rave reviews throughout the music industry.

Hurts have their sharp suits, slick hair and stark visuals, Theo Hutchcraft and Anderson present a striking contrast to the glow-in-the-dark pop stars who have run amok across the charts of late and bring a sophisticated air to the Wakestock stage this year.
